Software Giveaway and Review

I was asked to try using this software to see how I liked it for my digital scrapbooking.  Let me tell you I have never done any type of scrapbooking on the computer nor did I ever intend on it but this software makes it so easy.  I was able to use some pre-loaded designs, start my own using there pre-loaded design elements, and I was also able to find free digital scrapbook collections online that I used with this software. (I have an example of each.)  Not only was the design of the software easy to follow, screenshot below, but they also offered online tutorials for the not so computer savvy scrapper.  They also offer printing services that are directly connected to the internet and there preferred vendors.  You can create cards, scrapbooks, or invitations and have them all professionally printed with the click of a couple buttons.

I created a few albums because it was so easy.  I have included below just a couple of the pages that I was able to do using this software.

This page I created using the pre-loaded design elements that are included with the software.  They had many different types of backgrounds in every color. To get the text color in "Friendship" to match the brown paper strip I used a cool tool called 'Picker'. You center the cursor over the color you would like to match and presto you have the some color without having to find the RGB codes.

I created this one using a kit that I found online at http://www.shabbyprincess.com/downloads.asp, this is the Harvest Spice collection.  This software also made if very easy to add text in any font that I wanted.  I was able to try different fonts of different sizes and colors easily to see what would work best with my project.

Challenge #12

Well it was a long fun weekend of crafting, I may have to take a break for a while. :) But here is the final challenge. Create a page with a Kid theme. I decided to stick with the 3 Primary color well and green so that my blocks would look alright. It needs a little more too it but I am all out of ideas right now!

Challenge #11

For Challenge #11 we had to use the colors Green, Pink and Black. So I have been meaning to decorate the front of my cricut with vinyl. Well I had all the colors on hand so I here is my beautiful cricut!!

Challenge #10

This one was all about Pets. Well in an earlier Tammy Skinner showed how to make a rosette using paper. So I really wanted to try it out to see how hard it would be. I also used the Create a Critter cartridge and cut the Terrier out all in white since I have a West Highland White Terrier. I think it turned out pretty cute and will try to use it on a scrapbook page. It may be too thick though.

Challenge #9

Well this was a hard one. We needed to use Glitz, Glam & Glitter. I got scrappers block in the middle of this one and didn't know how to finish it of (that like writers block for crafters)

I thought this was pretty interesting though I took pictures after I got the majority of it put together and then when I added some embellishments. Take a look I think a little can go along way.

Challenge #8

This challenge was to make something with a Summer theme. What says summer better then a happy sun? I used Create a Critter to make the sun and I just had this super cute paper hanging around.

Challenge #7

This challenge was to make a scrapbook page. I love this picture of my sister and I from when we were little girls. This picture says so much to our personalities! Every time I look at this picture it makes me smile. I have a great sister and am very thankful for her. Being that we are the only girls of our siblings, we have a special bond. I think back on all the things we have done together and all we have made it through, and I am glad that she is my sister and has stood by my side unconditionally. I couldn't ask for a better sister or friend.

Challenge #6

This one isn't my favorite but it's probably because it is getting late and so my creative juices are running low. This challenge we need to incorporate a tag into the design. I used Life's a Party for the stroller which I think is super cute.

3D Blocks

Okay, so I made some more blocks. These are for my grandmother for Mother's Day. I have awesome grandparents! I hope she likes them.

But again Challenge #5 is to make a 3D object. So perfect!!!

Mother's Day Card

This is a card that I made in celebration of Mother's Day. Which is perfect because Challenge #4 is to make something with a Mother's Day Theme!

Challenge #3

Well this challenge is to make something with a breast cancer theme. I made this bra on my gypsy by welding together a bunch of shapes from George and Basic Shapes. I added some lace and jewels to make it pretty. I think it turned out super cute. I had to save the bra on my gypsy for use another time.

Challenge #2

This challenge was to make something for a man using Kraft paper. Well this is the closest I have to Kraft paper and anytime you make something for a guy it is a real challenge.

National Scrapbook Day

Today is National Scrapbook Day and The Pink Stamper is going to be having a celebration over at her blog. There will be a challenge every hour so it will be a day packed full of fun!!

Here is my entry into her Challenge #1. We just need to use a cupcake somewhere in our project and it doesn't have to be a scrapbook page.

Braided Headband

This is an idea I got from my friend. She found it on You Seriously Made That! It's a really cute idea and this time I just braided instead of crocheting it. Next time though I think I am going to bust out with the hook needle and do it that way. I found braiding it took a lot of effort to make sure all the strands came out even, and as you can tell I have some braided that ended up skinnier that some of the others. But it was fairly easy to make, full instructions can be found on the link above.

Baby Shower Card

Well another baby is on the way and today is the shower. My mom asked me to make a card to go with her gift so this is what I came up with; I used my Life's a Party cartridge and I am not sure who the paper is by. This is some really old paper I got back when I was in high school. The sentiment is just one I printed off of the computer because I don't have any sentiment stamps. If anyone would like to donate to my cause I am a willing recipient!! But on to the card, this is for a little boy but I am sure it would be just as adorable in pink for a little girl.

Cricut 5th Birthday Contest

Well I didn't win but here our my entries for the Cricut Contest that they had on Facebook. The rules were that you had to make a 12x12 scrapbook page that were themed birthday. I did add a little more to the girlie layout before I submitted but I forgot to get updated pictures. I tried to submit a variety so this is what I came up with.

Cardboard Boats

I have been working on this page for a while. Well not really working, I put together an idea for it right after I got my Gypsy in October and just never did anything with it. I used Stamped for the lettering, Paper doll dress up for the boat, and my Gypsy to cut the year into it. I need to get a few more pages together so I can use my YourStory to bind them all together.

Magnetic Picture Board

Well it has been quite sometime since I put anything up on here. I have a few projects in the works and have completed a few this week that I will be sharing.
I just put the finishing touches on this magnetic board that I bought as a plain frame and sheet of metal. The saying is a quote from Albert Einstein. The flowers are the same as the ones that I made in a previous post but I just used these to accent, rather than as a hair bow. I think it turned out pretty nicely and I will be hanging it up tomorrow, then I need to start working on the magnets to go on it.
I used my Cricut with vinyl for the lettering and plain black paint and I finished it off with some mod podge to give it a glossy look. (Sorry about the blue glare in the picture there was a computer on right across from the table I set up for pictures on)

Satin Flowers

Here are some flowers that we made at another girls craft day. This is a great project to do with a large group. We each took a color and cut out all the circles that we needed. They turned out really well. Pictured is my niece who insisted on wearing all three I made for her and her sister to share. I talked her out of the hot pink one since it didn't match. We put felt on the back so they can be changed from a headband to an alligator clips.

Blocks from Girl's Craft Night

Finally finished my blocks from a girl's craft night! It was a lot of fun getting together with everyone and getting a chance to try a new craft. We used 4x4 blocks, mod podge, and of course the Cricut! I think mine turned out really cute, I LOVE them! Everyone did something different and they all turned out really good!!
On the butterflies I used a little bit of mod podge to make sure they would keep their 3-D form and I used the flower roller from Imaginisce to make the rolled flowers that are on the U block the pink flower is from a set by Imaginisce that includes flowers, gems, and a stencil to use with the iRock tool.
